Victor Osimhen future secured as Galatasaray block Al-Hilal move

Galatasaray have told Al-Hilal they have no intention of selling Victor Osimhen this summer, closing the door on the Saudi Pro League club’s attempt to explore a possible transfer.

Al-Hilal made initial enquiries to establish the conditions that would be required to sign the Nigeria international. However, Galatasaray responded formally and made clear that their star striker is not available.

The approach, confirmed by Sky Sport CH, was understood to be an effort by Al-Hilal to assess the Turkish club’s position before deciding whether to pursue the matter further. Despite the Saudi side’s strong interest and considerable financial resources, Galatasaray have shown no willingness to enter negotiations.

The Turkish champions’ stance reflects the importance of Osimhen to their sporting plans. The club regard the forward as a central figure in their squad and have firmly rejected the prospect of his departure during the current summer transfer window.

Unless there is a dramatic change in circumstances, Osimhen will continue his career with Galatasaray and remain in the club’s red-and-yellow colours.

Al-Hilal’s interest represented a test of whether Galatasaray could be persuaded to consider a move for one of their leading players. The Saudi Pro League club’s financial strength gave the enquiry significant weight, but it has not altered the Turkish side’s position.
