Thembinkosi Lorch linked with Moroccan move after Al-Ittihad switch

South African winger Thembinkosi Lorch is being linked with a move from Al-Ittihad to Moroccan club MAS Fes, with the proposed transfer emerging on 12 August.

Lorch, 33, joined Al-Ittihad from Wydad AC on 2 February 2026 in a deal reported at €529,000. The move followed a brief spell with Wydad, where he had initially arrived on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns in January 2025 before returning to the South African club in July.

The left winger’s potential move to MAS Fes would see him remain in North Africa, but switch from the Libyan Premier League to Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi. No transfer fee or probability has been reported for the proposed deal.

Lorch has spent much of his career in South Africa, establishing himself at Orlando Pirates before joining Sundowns in January 2024. He was part of the Sundowns side that won the South African championship in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

He was also named DStv Premiership Player of the Year for the 2021-22 campaign and won the Nedbank Cup with Orlando Pirates in 2023.

Lorch’s current market value is listed at €400,000. He remains an Al-Ittihad player while the reported interest from MAS Fes develops.
