Jonathan Tah hails Morocco star Ismail Saibari ahead of Bayern Munich debut
Bayern Munich defender Jonathan Tah has praised new signing Ismail Saibari, expressing his excitement about sharing the pitch with the Moroccan international at the German giants next season.
Saibari joined Bayern Munich from PSV Eindhoven during the current summer transfer window in a major move that underlines the club’s belief in his potential.
Speaking to Bavarian Football Works, Tah revealed that Saibari had already caught his attention during his time at PSV, while the German defender also enjoyed watching the Moroccan during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tah believes Saibari’s versatility, physical strength and technical ability could make him a valuable addition to Bayern’s squad.
The Germany international highlighted Saibari’s ability to operate in different attacking positions and make an impact through both his physical presence and technical qualities.
Tah also admitted that facing Saibari as an opponent would not have been an easy task, particularly because of the combination of strength and skill possessed by the Moroccan.
Saibari enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign with Morocco, scoring three goals before being ruled out of the Atlas Lions’ quarter-final clash against France because of a muscle injury.
Following the injury, the 25-year-old began an individual rehabilitation programme at Bayern Munich’s Säbener Straße training centre as he worked towards regaining full fitness.
The Moroccan completed his move to Bayern from PSV Eindhoven on a five-year contract in a deal reportedly worth around €55 million.
His arrival, alongside Nathaniel Braun, has made the pair among Bayern’s most prominent additions during the current summer transfer window as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Tah welcomed the arrival of both players and revealed his excitement at the prospect of playing alongside them.
The experienced defender believes Saibari and Braun have the qualities required to make a significant contribution to Bayern Munich.
Saibari is currently focused on completing his recovery and returning to full fitness ahead of the new season.
The Moroccan has now returned to Bayern’s group training sessions after undergoing rehabilitation, providing an encouraging sign as he prepares to integrate fully into his new team.
With his World Cup performances already attracting significant attention, Saibari will now be looking to carry that momentum into Bayern Munich and establish himself as an important member of Vincent Kompany’s squad.
