Ivory Coast forward Evann Guessand set for another Crystal Palace loan spell

Crystal Palace are reportedly on the verge of reaching an agreement with Aston Villa to bring Ivorian international Evann Guessand back to Selhurst Park for another season.

The 25-year-old forward spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Crystal Palace from Aston Villa, with the agreement containing no option to make the move permanent.

However, after making an impression during his first spell with the Eagles, Guessand is now expected to return to the club on another loan deal.

The two Premier League clubs are currently in talks over the transfer, with reports suggesting that negotiations have reached an advanced stage and that an agreement could be finalised shortly.

Unlike last season’s arrangement, however, the new loan is expected to come with different financial and contractual terms.

According to Foot Mercato, Crystal Palace are negotiating a paid loan deal that would also include a mandatory purchase clause, meaning the Eagles would be required to make the move permanent once the conditions of the clause are met.

The reported agreement would give Palace another opportunity to benefit from Guessand’s attacking qualities while also providing a potential pathway towards a permanent transfer.

The Ivorian forward made his mark during his previous spell at Selhurst Park, featuring across competitions and contributing two goals and one assist.

More importantly, Guessand was part of the Crystal Palace squad that enjoyed a historic European campaign, helping the Eagles win the UEFA Conference League.

His performances appear to have convinced Palace that he remains a player worth retaining, while Aston Villa are also understood to be open to another temporary arrangement that could eventually lead to a permanent transfer.

With the two clubs reportedly having agreed the main terms, the final formalities are now expected to be completed before Guessand returns to Crystal Palace for the upcoming season.

The Ivorian international will be hoping to build on his previous campaign and make an even greater impact as Palace prepare for another demanding season in the Premier League and European competition.
