Salah’s new Trabzonspor era gets live television backing from beIN

beIN has announced that it will broadcast selected matches involving Mohamed Salah and Trabzonspor in the Turkish league, following the club’s shock confirmation that it has signed the Egypt international from Liverpool on a contract running until 2028.

The move has overturned expectations in the transfer market, with Besiktas previously regarded as the leading contenders to secure Salah’s signature after a brief but intense battle for the forward.

Trabzonspor officially confirmed the agreement, bringing an end to what has been described as Salah’s legendary spell in English football and opening an unexpected new chapter in his career under manager Fatih Tekke.

The Turkish club are preparing for the start of the 2026-27 season, with their opening league fixture scheduled against Kasimpasa on Saturday, 15 August.

That match will be Trabzonspor’s first in the Turkish league campaign, with Tekke taking charge as the side begins its bid for a strong start to the new season. The fixture will also be the first opportunity for supporters to see how Salah fits into his new team, although no further details about his involvement were provided in the announcement.

beIN said it would show the most important matches featuring Salah for Trabzonspor across its television channels and digital platforms. The broadcaster’s coverage will begin from 15 August, the same date as the club’s opening league game.

In a post on X, the Qatar-based network said: “beIN intends to broadcast Mohamed Salah’s most important matches with Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super League live and exclusively across its channels, as well as on its leading digital platform TOD by beIN, from the 15th of this month.”

The announcement gives supporters access to Salah’s first matches in Turkey after his high-profile departure from Liverpool. It also confirms that the forward’s appearances for Trabzonspor will form part of beIN’s coverage of the Turkish league, with the service available through both its traditional broadcast network and TOD by beIN.

Trabzonspor’s encounter with Kasimpasa comes on the opening Saturday of the 2026-27 campaign. The club’s official announcement of Salah’s arrival had initially been viewed as one of the biggest surprises of the transfer market, particularly because Besiktas had been widely expected to win the race for the player.

Salah will now begin a new phase of his career in Turkey, with the deal taking him through to 2028 and placing him under the management of Tekke.
