beIN SPORTS to show key Mohamed Salah matches for Trabzonspor

beIN SPORTS will broadcast Trabzonspor’s most important Turkish Super Lig matches featuring new signing Mohamed Salah, starting later this month.

The network holds the rights to show the Turkish top flight in the Middle East, but has traditionally screened only one or two matches from each round. That differs from its coverage of Europe’s major leagues, where all fixtures in a round are broadcast across its channels.

beIN SPORTS said it would expand its coverage of Trabzonspor matches because of Salah’s arrival.

“The network intends to broadcast Mohamed Salah’s most important matches with Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig live and exclusively across its channels, as well as on its leading digital platform TOD by beIN, starting on the 15th of this month,” it said in a statement.

Salah is expected to make his competitive debut for Trabzonspor within days, with the Turkish league season due to begin shortly.

The Egypt international joined Trabzonspor on a two-year contract as a free agent after ending his spell with Liverpool. He was not included in Trabzonspor’s squad for their friendly against Goztepe on Saturday, following a personal request because the match came only a few days after he had signed for the club.

The 34-year-old is now preparing for the opening round of the Turkish Super Lig.

Trabzonspor’s first league fixture will be away to Kasımpasa. The match will be played at Kasımpasa Stadium on Saturday at 19:00 and will be shown on beIN SPORTS 2.

The club has announced that Salah will receive an annual salary of €10m under the terms of his contract. He is also due a €7m signing-on bonus, taking his guaranteed total remuneration to €17m.

The agreement includes additional financial incentives linked to the player’s performances during the two-year deal.

Trabzonspor also said Salah would receive 20% of the revenue generated from official merchandise released in his name. His agent’s commission was set at 5%, according to the contract details made public by the club.

Salah spent nine seasons with Liverpool before moving to Trabzonspor. During his time at Anfield, he made 315 appearances, scoring 257 goals and providing 120 assists.

His arrival has prompted beIN SPORTS to confirm that more of Trabzonspor’s matches will be available to viewers across its television network and digital service, rather than the limited selection of Turkish league games it had previously shown each round.
