Al Ahly rule out transfer talks over first-team players ahead of new season

Al Ahly have closed the door on the departure of their players during the current transfer window, declaring that they will not discuss offers for members of their first-team squad before the new season begins.

The decision comes amid reports that Saudi Arabian and Turkish clubs are interested in signing Emam Ashour during the current summer transfer market. However, the Egyptian club have made clear that neither formal proposals nor informal approaches will be considered at this stage.

In an official statement published on the club’s Facebook account, Al Ahly said: “The club’s management has decided not to discuss any professional offers for the first-team football players, whether amicably or officially, during the current transfer window, in order to preserve the team’s stability and provide all its technical needs in preparation for the competitions of the new season at the domestic and continental levels.”

The statement represents a firm position from Al Ahly as they prepare for the next campaign. Rather than allowing individual transfer discussions to develop, the club’s management has chosen to keep the squad intact and focus on ensuring that the team has the technical resources it considers necessary for the forthcoming domestic and continental competitions.

The policy applies to every player in the first team and is not limited to Ashour, whose name has been linked with possible moves to Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Al Ahly have not indicated that any player is available for negotiation during the current window.

The club have already completed four signings in the summer transfer market. Those arrivals are Aqtay Abdallah, Ali Mahmoud, Moroccan forward Soufiane Benjedida and Algerian striker Monsef Bakrar.
