Zachary Athekame linked with Lyon move from AC Milan

Zachary Athekame, the Swiss-Nigerian right-back at AC Milan, is being linked with a move to Lyon in a rumour involving clubs from Serie A and Ligue 1.

Athekame, 21, joined Milan on 15 August 2025 and is under contract with the Italian club until 30 June 2030. The defender’s listed market value is €15m, placing him among the younger players whose potential transfer would represent a significant commitment for Lyon.

Born in Geneva on 13 December 2004, Athekame plays primarily at right-back and is right-footed. He holds Swiss and Nigerian nationality.

The reported interest comes after only one year at Milan, where his long-term contract remains in place. The proposed move would take him from Italy’s top division to France’s top flight, with Lyon identified as the club pursuing a deal.
