Togo striker Mansour Ouro-Tagba joins VfL Bochum on long-term deal

Togo international Mansour Ouro-Tagba has joined VfL Bochum from 1. FC Köln on a contract running until June 2030.

The 21-year-old striker has completed the move after an impressive loan spell with VfB Stuttgart II last season, although the transfer fee has not been disclosed.

Ouro-Tagba will wear the number 29 shirt at Bochum and gives the German club another attacking option as they prepare for the new season.

Versatile attacking option

Standing at 1.91m, Ouro-Tagba can operate both as a central striker and on either wing, offering Bochum flexibility in attack.

Bochum’s Director of Licensed Football, Simon Zoller, believes the young forward has already shown enough at senior level to justify the club’s decision to invest in his development.

“Mansour is a versatile attacker who can be deployed flexibly in attack. Whether as a powerful player in the center or with pace on the wing. He has already proven himself in men’s football at a young age, and now we will support his further development. We are delighted that we were able to convince him to join VfL and embrace our approach.”

Ouro-Tagba impressed in third tier

The Togo international spent last season on loan with VfB Stuttgart II, scoring nine goals in 31 appearances in the German third division.

Born in New York and raised in Munich, Ouro-Tagba began his football education at 1860 Munich before continuing his development with Köln.

His performances last season helped strengthen his reputation and ultimately earned him a long-term move to Bochum.

The striker is pleased with how the transfer was completed and believes the club’s efforts to sign him made a strong impression.

“I am very happy that the move to VfL has worked out. The sporting directors made a real effort to sign me, and I found this appreciation impressive.”

Bochum will now hope the Togo forward can continue his development and translate his goalscoring form into the next stage of his career in German football.
