Marumo Gallants spokesman Sello Nduna confirms departure

Revered Marumo Gallants spokesman Sello Nduna has confirmed that he has resigned from the club after two years in the role.

Nduna said he submitted his resignation on Sunday night, but declined to provide further details about his decision at this stage.

“I can confirm that I tendered my resignation on Sunday night,” said Nduna, who declined to elaborate further at this stage.

His departure follows uncertainty over his position during Marumo Gallants’ preparations for the new season. The club relocated from Bloemfontein to Pretoria at the start of pre-season in June, but Nduna did not make the move with the squad and staff.

Although his name appeared in Marumo Gallants’ official communications on several occasions in July, sources indicated that he was no longer working for the club by that stage.

The circumstances surrounding Nduna’s resignation have not been disclosed. However, a source said the experienced media professional had received opportunities from outside the Free State, while insisting that he did not plan to leave the province.

“He’s had offers outside the Free State, but he has no intention to leave the province. He served Marumo Gallants very well; hence, it’s not surprising that there are offers. It’s a big loss for Marumo,” said our source.

Nduna’s exit represents a significant change for Marumo Gallants, where he had been a prominent figure in the club’s public communications since joining two years ago. No reason has been given for his decision to step down.

Club boss Abram Sello could not be reached for comment.

Originally from Bloemfontein, Nduna has extensive experience in sports broadcasting and football media. He works as a sports commentator and voice-over artist at Motsweding FM, adding to a career that has included major international football events in South Africa.

Nduna served as a venue media officer during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He also worked as a venue press officer for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.

His background in broadcasting, event media operations and public communication made him a familiar presence around Marumo Gallants and within the wider football community in the Free State.

The club has not yet announced a replacement or provided a public statement on Nduna’s resignation. His departure comes as Marumo Gallants continue their preparations in Pretoria, having started pre-season training there in June.

For now, Nduna has confirmed only that he has left the club and that his resignation was submitted on Sunday night. No further explanation has been offered by him or Marumo Gallants.
