Five African players set to attract attention across Europe this weekend

European football returns on 10 to 11 October following the international break, with several African players in focus as domestic competition resumes.

Among the leading names are Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Mohamed Abdelmonem, who are expected to feature in notable fixtures in leagues ranging from the Premier League to Ligue 1.

Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush will be among those under particular scrutiny on Saturday.

The Egyptian winger of Trabzonspor is due to face Samsunspor in the Turkish league, while his compatriot Marmoush, representing Tottenham, travels to Manchester United.

That match will also provide an opportunity to watch Manchester United pair Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo. The Cameroon international and the Ivory Coast international are both capable of influencing the game with their pace and ability to create chances.

The fixture is one of several major encounters taking place as European football resumes after the international break. The performances of the African players involved will be closely watched as their clubs return to league action.

In France, Mohamed Abdelmonem is another player to follow when Nice host Strasbourg on Sunday.

The Egyptian defender will be looking to help his side maintain its defensive solidity against opponents known for their intensity. Nice-Strasbourg is one of the weekend’s fixtures expected to draw attention as the French league programme gets under way again.

Together, the five players offer a range of attacking and defensive qualities to monitor across the weekend, from Salah and Marmoush in forward roles to Mbeumo and Diallo’s threat in Manchester United’s attack, and Abdelmonem’s contribution at the back for Nice.
