Ferran Torres agrees personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, says Fabrizio Romano
Ferran Torres has agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, moving the Barcelona forward a step closer to a summer transfer to the French club, according to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano said on X that representatives of Torres and Paris Saint-Germain had informed Barcelona that a verbal agreement had been reached over the player’s contract conditions.
“Ferran Torres’ agents and Paris Saint-Germain have informed Barcelona about the verbal agreement on personal terms,” Romano wrote.
He added that Barcelona is now expected to receive Paris Saint-Germain’s first formal offer for Torres soon, meaning negotiations between the clubs could begin in the near future.
Torres, who plays for Barcelona and Spain, has given his approval to a move to Paris Saint-Germain as he prepares for a possible switch to Luis Enrique’s side. The agreement over personal terms is not yet the same as a completed transfer, with Barcelona still awaiting an offer from the French club.
The forward had previously indicated that his future was uncertain, saying: “In football, nothing can be predicted.”
A previous report by Spanish newspaper Sport said Luis Enrique had played an important role in persuading Torres to join Paris Saint-Germain. The manager is understood to have told the player that he wanted him to be part of the club’s project.
The latest development comes as international players are due to return to training this week ahead of the new season. Players who took part in the World Cup were given additional time off before joining their clubs’ preparations.
Torres was part of the Spain team that won the World Cup for the second time in the country’s history. He scored Spain’s decisive goal against Argentina in the final.
His potential departure would therefore represent a significant change for Barcelona, although no transfer fee or final agreement between the two clubs has been announced in the information released so far. The next stage is expected to be Paris Saint-Germain’s opening proposal, which Barcelona is anticipating shortly.
