Al-Diriyah to share Al-Awwal Park with Al Nassr for 2026-27 season

Al-Diriyah Club have received approval to play their home matches at Al-Awwal Park throughout the 2026-27 Saudi Pro League season, meaning the newly promoted side will share the stadium with Al Nassr.

The approval was reported by Asharq Al-Awsat, with Al-Diriyah set to begin their first top-flight campaign at the Riyadh venue on Thursday. Their opening match will be against Al Ahli, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 local time as part of the opening round of fixtures.

Al-Diriyah will then host Al-Kholood at Al-Awwal Park on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, in the third round. Their next listed home fixture at the stadium will be against Al Qadsiah on Thursday, 3 September 2026, in round five.

The club’s management considered a number of possible venues before deciding on Al-Awwal Park as the ground that will stage its home matches during the new season. The stadium’s approval provides Al-Diriyah with a confirmed base for their first season in the Saudi top flight.

Al-Awwal Park has been Al Nassr’s official home since 2020, under a 10-year arrangement. That means the Riyadh stadium will host home fixtures for both clubs during the 2026-27 campaign.

The two sides are also due to meet at Al-Awwal Park in the King’s Cup. The fixture between Al-Diriyah and Al Nassr will therefore be played at the same venue used by both teams for their league commitments.

Al-Diriyah secured promotion to the Saudi Pro League for the first time in the club’s history after beating AlUla in a play-off match. Their opening-day meeting with Al Ahli will mark the start of the club’s top-flight campaign and its first league fixtures at this level.

The decision over the venue follows the club’s review of the available options ahead of the new season. With the agreement now in place, Al-Diriyah’s home schedule will be staged at Al-Awwal Park, while Al Nassr will continue to use the ground as its official stadium under the existing 10-year arrangement.
