French-Congolese teenager Enzo Molebe heads to Switzerland for Lausanne-Sport loan

Olympique Lyonnais forward Enzo Molebe is set to join Swiss club FC Lausanne-Sport on loan as the France Under-19 international continues his development away from the French club.

The 18-year-old forward of Congolese descent will move to Lausanne on a season-long loan without an option to buy, according to L’Équipe, with the agreement between the two clubs already negotiated.

Molebe had previously been linked with a move to OGC Nice, but he will instead remain within the INEOS group, which owns both Nice and Lausanne-Sport.

Switzerland move follows Montpellier spell

Molebe spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Montpellier HSC, where he gained valuable first-team experience in Ligue 2.

The forward made an impact during his time in Occitanie, scoring twice and providing one assist.

His performances convinced Lyon that another loan spell would be beneficial for his development, with Lausanne now providing the next stage of his progression.

Troyes also showed interest

Lausanne-Sport were not the only club interested in signing the young forward.

ESTAC Troyes, who have returned to Ligue 1 this season, also attempted to secure Molebe’s services but eventually ended their pursuit after failing to reach an agreement over the financial terms.

Nice had also been mentioned as a possible destination before the move to Switzerland emerged.

The decision to send Molebe to Lausanne means he will remain within the INEOS football network while gaining experience in a different league.

France youth international

Molebe has represented France at Under-19 level, earning six caps and scoring three goals.

The right-footed forward remains contracted to Lyon until 2029, meaning the French club continue to have long-term plans for his development.

His move to Lausanne is therefore expected to give him another opportunity to gain regular playing time and develop his game before returning to Lyon.

For Molebe, the loan represents the latest step in a career that has already taken him from Lyon to Montpellier and now Switzerland as he looks to establish himself at senior level.
