Pedri unveils platinum-blonde style after Spain’s 2026 World Cup triumph

Pedri has honoured a promise made during the 2026 World Cup by dyeing his hair platinum blonde after Spain were crowned world champions.

The Barcelona midfielder revealed his new look on Instagram, sharing a photograph of his freshly dyed hair with his followers. He accompanied the image with the playful message: “Promises must be kept. World champion = blonde Pedri.”

Pedri had pledged to change the colour of his hair if Spain succeeded in winning the tournament. Following the national team’s triumph, the 23-year-old has now followed through on that promise with a striking appearance.

His new hairstyle quickly attracted significant attention online, adding a personal and highly visible touch to Spain’s celebrations after their World Cup success. The change was presented by Pedri as a direct consequence of the commitment he made while competing for the national side.

However, Pedri was not the only Spain player to mark the title victory with a memorable change in appearance.

Barcelona team-mate Gavi also adopted a new style, colouring his hair a vivid neon pink. Marc Cucurella went further still, choosing to commemorate the achievement with a tattoo featuring the face of Spain manager Luis de la Fuente.

The three players therefore celebrated the tournament victory in distinctly different ways, with Pedri opting to keep his promise through a bold but temporary change to his appearance, while Gavi and Cucurella also used their looks to mark the occasion.

Pedri had been given a period of rest after the conclusion of the competition and is now preparing to return to his duties with Barcelona.

His focus will switch back to club football after a successful period with Spain, although his platinum-blonde hair is likely to remain a conspicuous reminder of the country’s World Cup triumph.
