Pyramids FC beaten by Rizespor in final Turkey friendly
Pyramids FC ended their training camp in Turkey with a 2-1 defeat by Rizespor in their final friendly match.
The Egyptian side’s only goal was scored by Brazilian forward Everton da Silva as they concluded a programme of four pre-season matches.
Pyramids travelled to Rize for the game as part of their preparations and were unable to finish the camp with a positive result. The match against Rizespor was their last fixture before the squad’s return to Cairo.
Pyramids started with Ahmed El Shenawy in goal, while the defensive line consisted of Eyad El Askalany, Mahmoud Marei, Ahmed Sami and Mohamed Chibi.
Mohanad Lasheen, Mahmoud Saber, Nasser Maher, Ouda Fakhouri and Mahmoud Zalaka formed the midfield, with Mostafa Ziko leading the attack.
Nasser Maher was forced to leave the field at the end of the first half after suffering an ankle sprain. Ahmed Atef Qota came on in his place, while Youssef Obama was introduced at the start of the second half.
The defeat brought Pyramids’ Turkish training camp to a close. The club’s delegation is scheduled to leave directly from Rize Airport and travel back to Cairo on a private flight after completing the camp and playing four friendly matches.
The result was the final competitive outing of the preparation period in Turkey, with the squad now set to return home following the conclusion of its overseas programme.
