Ahmed Abdelkader agrees four-year deal to join Pyramids
Pyramids have reached an agreement to sign Ahmed Abdelkader from Al-Karma, with the player completing a four-year contract with the club.
The deal has been concluded between Pyramids and Abdelkader, who is set to move to the Egyptian side after his spell with Al-Karma. The player has signed the contracts required to formalise his arrival, according to information obtained by FilGoal.com.
Pyramids’ director of contracts, Amr Basyouni, has completed all of the procedures needed to bring the player to the club. Pyramids are expected to make the transfer official in the coming hours.
Abdelkader joined Al-Karma in January after leaving Al Ahly. The report refers to Al-Karma as a Saudi club in its account of the transfer to Pyramids, while it later describes the club as Iraqi when outlining the player’s recent career.
The move will represent Pyramids’ second signing of the summer. The club’s only previous addition in the current transfer window was Eyad El Askalany, who was brought in to strengthen the defence.
Pyramids will begin the forthcoming season under South African manager Rulani Mokwena, who has taken charge of the team from the start of the new campaign.
Abdelkader’s agreement means Pyramids have secured a long-term commitment from the player, with the contract running for four seasons. However, the club has yet to issue its formal announcement, which is expected shortly.
Pyramids have made the transfer arrangements while continuing to prepare for the new season under Mokwena. The Egyptian club’s recruitment activity so far has focused on adding Abdelkader and El Askalany, with El Askalany identified specifically as defensive reinforcement.
The announcement of Abdelkader’s signing will complete the public confirmation of a deal that has already been agreed and signed by the player. FilGoal.com reported the development on Saturday, 8 August 2026.
Abdelkader left Al Ahly before joining Al-Karma in January, and his next move will take him to Pyramids on a contract lasting until the end of the fourth season covered by the agreement. The club’s management is now expected to reveal the transfer officially within hours.
