Ismael Bennacer leaves AC Milan after contract termination

AC Milan and Ismael Bennacer have officially parted ways after agreeing to terminate the midfielder’s contract early.

The Rossoneri confirmed the departure on Friday, bringing an end to Bennacer’s seven-year association with the club. No specific reason was given for the decision.

The 28-year-old Algeria international had spent recent periods away from Milan on loan, and his exit now allows him to consider the next stage of his career as a free agent. His departure closes a significant chapter for a player who became an important part of Milan’s midfield during his time at San Siro.

Bennacer joined Milan in 2019 and made his mark through his energy, technical quality and ability to control matches from central areas. He helped the club return to the top of Italian football and leaves with lasting memories of his years in the red and black shirt.

“Dear Milan fans, last year I said goodbye without knowing that those words would ultimately become a final farewell. Nothing can erase the memories created here over more than five years. I wore this shirt with pride, passion and determination,” Bennacer said in a video message.
