Zamalek step up preparations for new Egyptian Premier League season

Zamalek continued their preparations for the new season with a fitness-focused training session at their New Administrative Capital training camp on Thursday, under manager Moataz Gamal.

The session took place in the morning at Al-Nady Club in the New Administrative Capital, where Zamalek are holding a closed camp as they build towards the start of the campaign.

Gamal began the workout with a physical training programme designed to improve the players’ fitness and ensure they are prepared for the demands of the season. The coaching staff then split the squad into three groups for rehabilitation exercises, followed by a light ball-work session.

The training formed part of the club’s preparation programme ahead of the new season, with Zamalek continuing their work at the camp in the capital.

The Egyptian Premier League is scheduled to begin on 21 August, with the first round of fixtures due to be completed on 20 February. Zamalek are listed to begin their league campaign against Al Ittihad Alexandria on 21 August, although the club’s preparations have also been described as leading towards an opening match on 23 August.

Zamalek’s programme includes an early meeting with defending rivals Al Ahly on 11 October, as well as away fixtures against Pyramids FC, El Gouna, Ghazl El Mahalla and Ceramica Cleopatra. The team will also face Al Masry and Smouha at Borg El Arab Stadium during the first half of the season.
