Malick Sylla signs first professional deal with AS Monaco until 2029

AS Monaco attacking midfielder Malick Sylla has signed his first professional contract with the club, extending his stay with his boyhood team until 2029.

The 20-year-old confirmed the milestone on his Instagram account, describing the agreement as the reward for years of dedication and hard work during his development at Monaco.

“Today, I am proud to announce the signing of my first professional contract with AS Monaco,” wrote Sylla. “It is the culmination of many years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. Thank you to AS Monaco for the trust they have placed in me.”

The contract marks an important step in the career of the Senegal-born midfielder, who has progressed through Monaco’s youth system and now officially joins the club’s professional ranks.

However, Sylla’s path towards regular first-team football remains uncertain. Earlier in the year, the attacking midfielder was reportedly among the players considered unlikely to continue with Monaco, while he also had a trial period with Paris Saint-Germain in May.

Despite those developments, Monaco’s management appears to have changed its stance and decided to retain the young talent by offering him his first professional deal.

The midfielder, who was born in Pikine, Senegal, will now look to continue his development within the Monaco setup as he aims to earn opportunities at senior level.

Sylla was not included in Filipe Luis’ squad for Monaco’s first three pre-season friendly matches, unlike some other academy players who were given opportunities to impress during the summer preparations.

Instead, the youngster is expected to continue gaining experience with Monaco’s Elite Group, where he can maintain his progress and compete for further chances with the first team.

The new contract represents a significant moment for Sylla, who has spent years working towards becoming a professional footballer.

While immediate first-team involvement may not be guaranteed, Monaco’s decision to secure his future demonstrates the club’s belief in his potential.

The midfielder will now focus on developing his game further and proving he can eventually become part of Monaco’s senior squad.
