Ghanaian winger Nana-Kofi Donkor completes long-term move to AIK Stockholm

Ghanaian winger Nana-Kofi Donkor has completed a long-term move to Swedish club AIK Stockholm after impressing with his performances in Georgian football.

The 19-year-old joins AIK from FC Dila Gori, with the Swedish side continuing its strategy of recruiting promising young talent.

Although the deal has now been confirmed, Donkor will officially become part of the club’s squad in January 2027 after signing a contract that runs until December 2030.

The move represents another important milestone in the teenager’s development after a productive spell in Georgia, where his performances attracted growing interest.

Before agreeing to join AIK, Donkor spent time on loan at Dinamo Tbilisi, where he continued to build valuable first-team experience.

During the previous campaign, the Ghanaian featured in 19 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

His displays were not limited to domestic football. Donkor also gained experience in the UEFA Conference League, where his performances further enhanced his reputation as one of the emerging attacking talents playing in Georgia.

Those consistent displays convinced AIK Stockholm to move quickly and secure his signature before interest from other clubs intensified.

The Swedish club views the winger as a player capable of fitting into its long-term sporting project. According to AIK’s head of recruitment, Miika Takkula, Donkor possesses the technical ability and versatility required to adapt successfully to the club’s style of play.

His flexibility across the attacking line is regarded as one of his strongest attributes. While naturally comfortable operating on either wing, the Ghanaian is also capable of playing in more central attacking positions, using his dribbling ability and close control to create opportunities in tight spaces.

By completing the transfer now, AIK believes it has secured one of the most promising young attacking players currently developing in the Georgian league.

The club’s decision to offer a contract until 2030 reflects its confidence in Donkor’s long-term potential.

Although supporters will have to wait until January 2027 before seeing him officially represent the club, the agreement allows AIK to plan for the future while ensuring they have beaten potential competition for his signature.
