Al-Wehdat secured their first victory of the Jordanian league season with a 1-0 win over Al-Jazira in the fourth round, giving manager Emad El Nahhas a winning start to his tenure.
Ahmed Sabra scored the only goal in the 18th minute, finishing a move created by team-mate Mohamed El-Dawoud.
The result ended a difficult opening to the campaign for Al-Wehdat, who had lost one match and drawn the other two 0-0. Sabra’s goal was also their first in the league this season.
Al-Wehdat moved up to fifth place with five points, while Al-Jazira remain fourth on the same total.
Al-Faisaly, managed by Tarek Mostafa, lead the Jordanian league with seven points, although they have played one match fewer.
El Nahhas took charge of Al-Wehdat after leaving Al-Masry, whom he guided to the League Cup title last season.
