Malaga CF consider loan move for Yvan Neyou as Getafe role fades

Malaga CF are exploring a move for Getafe midfielder Yvan Neyou after securing promotion to Spain’s first division, with the Andalusian club looking to strengthen its squad before the new season.

The Cameroon international has emerged as a target as Malaga CF seek to add greater depth and experience to their midfield. However, Neyou’s future at Getafe has become uncertain after a difficult spell in the capital, where his opportunities have been significantly reduced.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Malaga’s hierarchy are keen to complete a deal for the 29-year-old during the summer transfer window. The club is understood to want the situation resolved quickly as it prepares for its return to Spain’s top flight.

Neyou joined Getafe last summer but is no longer regarded as one of the undisputed members of the club’s squad. That change in status has led to the possibility of a temporary departure, with Getafe reportedly open to allowing the midfielder to leave on loan before the transfer market closes.

The proposed move would offer Neyou the chance to secure regular playing time elsewhere, although the player still wants to establish himself at Getafe and win back his place in the team. His desire to remain involved at the Madrid club means his next step has not yet been decided.

Exclusive information from Africafoot indicates that Malaga CF are not the only side monitoring the midfielder’s situation. Several clubs in Italy and France are also interested in Neyou, creating competition for a player whose contract with Getafe runs until 2028.

Neyou was born in Douala and continues to represent Cameroon internationally. His current market value is estimated at €2m by Transfermarkt.

For Malaga CF, the interest in Neyou comes at a significant moment. Having earned promotion, the club is now working to build a squad capable of competing in Spain’s first division. The Cameroon midfielder’s experience at Getafe and his availability as a potential loan signing have made him an appealing option for the Andalusian side.
