Morocco defender Driss Zahidi leaves Khemisset to become a free agent

Morocco centre-back Driss Zahidi has left Khemisset and is now without a club after completing his move away from the Moroccan side on 5 August 2026.

The 31-year-old defender’s departure brings an end to his one-season spell with Khemisset, whom he joined from Wydad Serghini in August 2025. Zahidi moved to Khemisset on a free transfer and spent the 2025-26 campaign with the club.

Zahidi began that spell following a transfer from Wydad Serghini, where he had played after joining the club in 2018. His career has also included periods with Mansouria and Chabab Mrirt, with both moves taking place without a transfer fee.

The defender joined Mansouria from Chabab Mrirt in July 2023 before switching to Wydad Serghini the following year. He returned to Morocco’s domestic football circuit with a series of moves between clubs, including free transfers to Chabab Mrirt and Mansouria.

His latest change of status was recorded at the start of August, with Zahidi departing Khemisset after the club’s 2025-26 campaign. He is listed as a central defender and remains available as a free agent.

Zahidi’s career has included involvement in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine, although no appearance or goal figures are recorded for his participation in the competition.

The move continues a sequence of club changes for the Moroccan defender, who has represented five named Moroccan sides during his senior career: Wydad Serghini, Chabab Mrirt, Mansouria, Khemisset and his most recent club before becoming unattached.

Zahidi’s departure from Khemisset was completed on 5 August 2026, leaving the 31-year-old Morocco international without a club.
