Vinicius Junior has deleted every image from his Instagram account, hours after reports emerged that Real Madrid had made an improved offer to extend his contract.

The Brazilian forward’s decision has added to uncertainty over his future at the Spanish club, with his current deal due to expire after next season. Arsenal are also showing strong interest in signing him this summer.

The 25-year-old’s Instagram account, which has about 64 million followers, no longer contains the photographs documenting his career, including his time with Real Madrid and the Brazil national team. He has also removed his profile picture, posts and highlight reels.

No explanation has been given for the clear-out, but the unexpected move has prompted widespread speculation among Real Madrid supporters. Some fear it could signal that the player is preparing to leave, while others hope it may form part of a marketing strategy linked to the announcement of a long-awaited contract extension.

Vinicius Junior and Real Madrid have spent several months without reaching an agreement over a new deal.
