Yann Kembo attracts SD Huesca interest after Sporting Gijon return

French and DR Congo centre-back Yann Kembo is being linked with a move from Sporting Gijon to SD Huesca.

The 24-year-old defender is contracted to Sporting Gijon until 30 June 2028, but Huesca are reportedly considering a move for him as they compete in Primera Federacion – Group II. Sporting Gijon play in LaLiga2.

Kembo returned to Sporting Gijon on 30 June after completing a loan spell with UD Ibiza. He joined Ibiza from Sporting in January 2026, with the temporary move ending at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.

The centre-back made 13 appearances in Primera Federacion – Group II, playing 1,082 minutes, while his career record also includes five Copa del Rey appearances and one LaLiga2 appearance. He has been registered with Sporting Gijon since July 2024, when he joined from Sporting Atletico.

Born in Le Mans, Kembo began his development with Le Mans before moving through Tours and RC Lens’ youth and reserve teams. He is listed at 1.96m and has a preferred left foot.

His current market value is €100,000. The reported Huesca interest does not include a stated transfer fee, and there has been no indication that an agreement has been reached. For now, Kembo remains a Sporting Gijon player with two years remaining on his contract.
