Mohamed Salah move to Trabzonspor enters final formalities after Liverpool departure

Mohamed Salah has arrived in Trabzon as he prepares to complete the formalities of a proposed move to Trabzonspor, with the Turkish club yet to sign the final documents or make an official announcement.

The Egypt international reached the Turkish city on Wednesday, following Trabzonspor’s confirmation that negotiations with the player had begun. His arrival marks the latest stage of discussions over a transfer that is expected to bring his time with Liverpool to an end.

Several Turkish reports say Salah is set to sign a two-year contract with Trabzonspor. The move would be completed as a free transfer after the forward’s departure from Liverpool, where he was known as the “Egyptian King”.

However, the agreement has not yet been formally completed. Salah must still finalise the arrangements with Trabzonspor before contracts can be signed and the club can publicly confirm the transfer.

His presence in Trabzon follows the club’s announcement that it had opened negotiations with the player. The sequence of events has led to growing attention in Turkey, where the proposed signing would represent a major addition for Trabzonspor.

The club’s president, Ertugrul Dogan, spoke to Turkish broadcaster A Spor after Salah arrived. During the interview, Dogan discussed the negotiations that preceded the expected agreement with the Egyptian forward and provided details of how the talks developed.

No final announcement had been made at the time of Salah’s arrival, meaning the transfer remained subject to the completion of the paperwork and the signing of the contract.

Should the reports prove accurate, Salah would join Trabzonspor after leaving Liverpool on a free transfer and would be tied to the Turkish club for two seasons. The reported terms, however, have yet to be officially confirmed by either the player or Trabzonspor.

The process is therefore at an advanced stage but is not complete. Salah has arrived in the city, the negotiations have been disclosed by the club and Turkish media reports have outlined the expected length and financial structure of the move, but the formal signing and final announcement are still pending.

Trabzonspor’s next step will be to complete the contractual procedures before confirming Salah’s arrival as a player. Until that happens, the proposed transfer remains an agreement in progress rather than an officially concluded deal.
