Djibril Sow attracts Genoa interest as Sevilla midfielder linked with Serie A switch
Swiss-Senegalese midfielder Djibril Sow has been linked with a move from Sevilla to Genoa. The 29-year-old central midfielder is under contract with the Spanish club until 30 June 2029, but Serie A side Genoa are reported to be interested in taking him to Italy.
Sow joined Sevilla from Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2023 in a transfer worth €10m. His current market value is listed at €7.5m, giving an indication of the midfielder’s valuation as speculation over a possible move develops.
He has made 87 La Liga appearances, scoring eight goals and providing six assists. During the 2026 World Cup, Sow featured in four of Switzerland’s possible six matches, starting 33% of the time and contributing one assist.
Sow began his senior career with BSC Young Boys, where he won two Swiss league titles, before moving to Frankfurt. He was part of the Eintracht side that won the Europa League in the 2021-22 season.
The potential transfer would see Sow leave Sevilla after three years in Spain, with Genoa offering a route into Serie A. There has been no confirmed agreement between the clubs, and Sow remains a Sevilla player with three years left on his current contract.
