Zakaria Labib makes Widad Temara switch as Morocco defender signs until 2028

Morocco left-back Zakaria Labib has joined Widad Temara from JS Soualem, bringing a new defender to the Botola Pro Inwi club. The 23-year-old completed the move on 3 August 2026 and has signed a contract running until 30 June 2028.

Labib, who was born in Casablanca, plays on the left side of defence and favours his left foot. He is 1.80m tall and joins Widad after a season with JS Soualem, where he had moved from Raja Casablanca in August 2025.

The defender previously spent time with Raja during the 2023-24 campaign. He joined the Casablanca club from JS Soualem on loan in September 2023 before returning to his parent club in January 2024. His spell at Raja coincided with the club’s Moroccan championship-winning season.

Labib’s honours also include an Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations title with Morocco in 2023. He was part of the Morocco Under-23 side that won the competition, adding an international achievement to his club career.

His recorded appearances include 21 matches in the Botola Pro Inwi, as well as six games in the CAF Champions League. He also featured in the Excellence Cup and the Moroccan Throne Cup, with one assist in the continental competition.

Labib began his senior pathway with Raja Casablanca’s under-19 side before progressing to the club’s reserve team in 2021. He moved into Raja’s senior set-up in January 2023, then spent periods between Raja and JS Soualem before making his latest switch to Widad Temara.

The move keeps Labib in Morocco’s top-flight football structure, with Widad competing in the Botola Pro Inwi. His contract at the Temara club runs for two seasons beyond the arrival date, securing his services through June 2028.

Labib has now completed his move from JS Soualem and is a Widad Temara player until 30 June 2028.
