Sekhukhune United sign Polokwane City attacker Mokibelo Ramabu

Sekhukhune United have signed Mokibelo Ramabu from provincial rivals Polokwane City, adding the experienced Betway Premiership attacker to their squad ahead of the new campaign.

The move represents the latest piece of transfer business by Babina Noko, who have been active in reshaping their squad after a number of players left the club at the end of last season. Ramabu joins after an impressive spell with Rise and Shine, during which he became an important member of the Polokwane City side.

Ramabu, 26, made 91 appearances for Polokwane City. He scored 11 goals and recorded three assists during his time with the club, building a reputation as a player capable of making an impact in the attacking third.

Sekhukhune United described the new arrival as a winger in their official announcement, although he has also been described as a midfielder.

“Sekhukhune United Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of winger Mokibelo Simon Ramabu,” the club announced via a statement.

“Mmotong (Moletjie) born attacker joins Babina Noko, bringing valuable Betway Premiership experience.

“Renowned for his pace, creativity, and ability to take on defenders, Ramabu adds significant attacking depth and quality in the final third.

“Throughout his career he has consistently contributed in the attacking phase, registering important goals and assists in key fixtures, while also demonstrating strong work rate.

“The Club extends a formal welcome to Mokibelo Ramabu and wishes him every success during his time with Babina Noko.”

The signing gives Sekhukhune United another attacking option as they prepare for the new season. Ramabu’s previous experience in the Betway Premiership was highlighted by the club as an important part of his arrival, along with his ability to create opportunities and challenge defenders.

His record for Polokwane City includes 11 goals across 91 appearances, as well as three assists, reflecting his contribution during his spell with Rise and Shine. The club also pointed to his work rate and his involvement in important fixtures as qualities that will add depth to their forward play.

Ramabu is the latest new face to join Sekhukhune United during a busy period of recruitment. Babina Noko began strengthening their squad after several departures at the end of the previous campaign, and the arrival of the 26-year-old continues that process.

The player was born in Mmotong, Moletjie, and will now continue his career with Sekhukhune United after establishing himself at Polokwane City. His pace, creativity and willingness to take on opponents were central to the club’s assessment of what he can offer.

While the announcement referred to Ramabu as a winger, his arrival is intended to increase the team’s attacking depth and improve their options in the final third. Sekhukhune United have welcomed him to the club and wished him success during his time with Babina Noko.
