Samsunspor head coach Torsten Fink has warned his team about the attacking threat posed by Mohamed Salah ahead of their Turkish Super Lig encounter against Trabzonspor on Saturday.

Trabzonspor will travel to Samsunspor for the seventh round of the 2026/27 Turkish Super Lig season, with the Egyptian forward expected to be a major threat after making an impressive start to the campaign.

Salah has scored seven goals in the league so far, including a hat-trick against Galatasaray in his most recent outing, further highlighting his importance to Trabzonspor’s attacking ambitions.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Fink acknowledged Trabzonspor’s attacking quality, pointing particularly to the impact of Salah, whose arrival has strengthened the visitors’ offensive options.

“Trabzonspor is very strong, especially in the first 15 minutes. They have players with great strength. They have succeeded in enhancing their attacking capabilities even more, especially after signing Mohamed Salah,” he told Turkish network 61saat.

The Samsunspor manager also highlighted Salah’s ability to punish opponents on the counter-attack, warning his players against allowing Trabzonspor too much space to exploit.

“Mohamed Salah is a player who can score many goals, and he is highly effective in counter-attacks, but it must be taken into account that Trabzonspor’s danger is not limited to counter-attacks only, but also to periods of ball possession if we give them enough space and time,” he added.

Fink stressed that his side must remain concentrated from the opening whistle, insisting that Samsunspor have the quality and home support to compete with their opponents.

“We have to be fully focused from the first minute. We have to prove ourselves to them and show that we have good players and great fans. We have confidence in ourselves and we have analysed the opponent well. Their marketing value is higher than our squad, but derby matches have a special character and dynamics,” he said.

Despite recognising Trabzonspor’s strength, Fink believes his team can take advantage of the visitors’ struggles on the road, noting that they are yet to record an away victory this season.

“Trabzonspor have not achieved any away wins so far. We must take advantage of that to our advantage in order to win on our home ground. It will be a great match; sometimes you perform well and sometimes you don’t,” he stated.

The Samsunspor boss also acknowledged that refereeing decisions could influence the outcome but insisted that his players must focus on delivering their best performance regardless of the circumstances.

“The referee’s decision may determine the outcome of the match, whether it’s a win or a loss, but regardless of the circumstances, we must give our best and do our utmost on the field,” he concluded.

Samsunspor will be hoping to use their home advantage to frustrate Trabzonspor and contain Salah, whose goalscoring form has made him one of the key players to watch heading into Saturday’s encounter.
