Spalletti admits Juventus interest in Zion Suzuki but highlights financial hurdle

Luciano Spalletti has openly admitted Juventus’ admiration for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, while warning that any move for the Japan international is complicated by finances.

Speaking after Juventus’ pre-season friendly against Nice, the coach said Suzuki is exactly the kind of profile the club likes.

“I really like Suzuki, we like him,” Spalletti said, making clear that the 24-year-old is firmly on their radar. He described the keeper as having “tremendous potential” and suggested Suzuki has what it takes to grow into one of Europe’s leading goalkeepers.

Spalletti also noted that Juventus are far from the only club paying attention. “If you look at the newspapers, his name is being mentioned by the strongest clubs,” he added, underlining how quickly Suzuki’s reputation has spread.

However, the Juve boss stressed that the deal is “prohibitive in terms of costs and possibilities” at this stage. With Parma reportedly demanding around €30 million, Juventus must keep an eye on their budget and “balance the expenses” as they rebuild for the new season.
