Wilfred Ndidi, Njideka dating rumours intensify after influencer wears midfielder’s No. 4 jersey

Popular Nigerian influencer Njideka has reignited speculation about her relationship with Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi after appearing in the midfielder’s Nigeria shirt during the team’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying victory over Madagascar.

Nigeria began their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 win over Madagascar in Uyo last Friday, with Ndidi playing the full 90 minutes. While the midfielder’s performance attracted attention on the pitch, Njideka’s presence in the stands created a separate talking point.

The social media personality was pictured wearing Ndidi’s recognisable No. 4 Super Eagles jersey while watching the match. She also shared photographs of herself in the shirt on her social media pages, adding to existing speculation surrounding her connection with the Leicester City midfielder.

Neither Njideka nor Ndidi has publicly confirmed that they are in a romantic relationship.

However, their social media activity and reported appearances together have continued to fuel the rumours.

Social media posts add to speculation

The speculation is not entirely new, with reports linking the pair having circulated for some time.

Njideka and Ndidi have reportedly been seen at the same locations on several occasions. Last year, both also shared photographs from a holiday in Spain, although neither publicly confirmed that they were travelling together.

Another post that attracted attention came on Father’s Day, when Njideka shared a photograph showing herself with a man inside an elevator.

The man’s face was not visible, while Njideka did not identify him or tag Ndidi. However, the man’s appearance led some social media users to speculate that he was the Super Eagles captain.

The image showed the man standing behind Njideka with his face obscured, while appearing to kiss her neck.

Despite the online theories, there has been no confirmation from either party that the man was Ndidi.

Ndidi’s personal life under scrutiny

The latest speculation comes at a time when Ndidi’s personal life has already attracted considerable attention.

Earlier this year, reports emerged suggesting that the midfielder had separated from his wife, Chidinma, after about seven years together.

Neither Ndidi nor Chidinma has publicly confirmed the reports, leaving the circumstances surrounding their relationship unclear.

The midfielder has consequently found himself under scrutiny both on and off the pitch.

His performances have also generated debate, particularly as his club situation has become less prominent. At club level, Ndidi has reportedly struggled for regular playing time under Vincenzo Italiano, while his displays for Nigeria have also attracted criticism.

There have been calls for the experienced midfielder to lose his place in the Super Eagles team despite wearing the captain’s armband.
