Colorado Rapids officially unveil Ibrahim Sadiq as Ghana winger begins MLS chapter
Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq has been officially unveiled by Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids following his move from Dutch Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar.
The 26-year-old completed his transfer during the 2026 summer window, bringing an end to his spell in the Netherlands as he prepares for a new chapter in the United States.
Sadiq was presented to Colorado Rapids supporters at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park but is yet to make his debut for the club in the Western Conference this season.
The former FC Nordsjaelland and BK Hacken winger will now look to settle quickly in MLS and make an impression on his new teammates, coaching staff and supporters.
His unveiling marks another step in a career that has taken him through several European leagues. Sadiq began making a name for himself with Danish club Nordsjaelland before moving to Sweden, where he represented Hacken.
He later returned to Denmark before securing a move to AZ Alkmaar, adding Dutch top-flight football to his experience.
Sadiq’s arrival in Colorado also presents an opportunity to increase his international profile, having yet to make his senior debut for Ghana.
The Accra-born attacker has, however, represented the country at youth level, featuring for both the Black Starlets and the Black Satellites.
With his European experience now complemented by a move to MLS, Sadiq will be hoping to make an immediate impact once given his first opportunity by Colorado Rapids.
The Ghanaian’s next target will be earning regular playing time and establishing himself in his new surroundings.
