Manchester United and Liverpool make enquiries for Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao

Manchester United and Liverpool have joined the race to sign Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao during the current summer transfer window, according to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The two Premier League clubs have made enquiries about the possibility of signing the Portugal international, whose estimated value is between £34m and £42m.

Conceicao, 23, is being considered by both clubs despite a relatively modest return during the 2025-26 season. The winger scored four goals and provided five assists for Juventus in all competitions.

His career record also raises questions about the level of attacking impact he could offer. Conceicao has never scored more than five league goals in a single season, a statistic that may be relevant to Manchester United as they continue to look for greater creativity and effectiveness in the final third.

Manchester United are understood to be exploring attacking options as well as working to strengthen their midfield during the summer. The club’s recruitment focus has included midfield reinforcements, but the interest in Conceicao shows that additions in forward areas also remain under consideration.

Manager Michael Carrick has used a midfield pairing of Andre Santos and Mason Mount in Manchester United’s pre-season matches so far. Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo have not yet featured, leaving the club assessing its options in the centre of the pitch while also continuing to examine possible attacking additions.

The enquiries from Manchester United and Liverpool do not indicate that a deal for Conceicao is close, but they place the Portuguese winger on the radar of two of England’s leading clubs. Any move would be shaped by Juventus’ valuation, reported to be as high as £42m.

For Conceicao, the reported interest comes after a season in which his overall contribution included four goals and five assists across all competitions. While those figures have not matched the most productive campaigns expected from a high-profile attacking player, his name has nevertheless emerged in the summer transfer discussions involving both Manchester United and Liverpool.

The report adds to the transfer activity surrounding Juventus players as clubs assess potential options before the new season. For Manchester United, the pursuit of Conceicao would represent an attempt to address attacking depth alongside the club’s stated priority of improving its midfield structure. Liverpool are also monitoring the situation, with both clubs having asked about the winger’s availability and price.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported the enquiries, with the information published by FilGoal on Saturday, 1 August 2026.
