Mohamed Salah transfer talks take new turn as Trabzonspor move ahead

Trabzonspor have made a significant move in their attempt to sign Mohamed Salah, submitting an ambitious formal offer after accelerating negotiations with the Egypt international’s representative.

The Turkish club are understood to have proposed a two-year contract worth an estimated €17m per season, according to journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu. The offer would put Trabzonspor in a strong position as they seek to persuade the former Liverpool forward to continue his career in Turkey.

Discussions between Trabzonspor and Salah’s representatives are reportedly at an advanced stage, with a complete agreement described as potentially close. No final deal has yet been officially confirmed, but the latest development has changed the picture considerably.

Besiktas, who had previously been regarded as the leading contenders to sign Salah, have suspended their negotiations with the player’s camp until further notice, according to Foot Mercato.

The Istanbul club had reached a verbal agreement with Salah’s representatives over a one-season contract with the option of extending it by another year. That proposed deal included a net salary of €10m per season, along with €2m in potential bonuses.

Besiktas had been considered favourites to recruit Salah, as previously reported exclusively by Africafoot. However, Trabzonspor’s offer appears to have altered the balance of the negotiations and left them as the strongest option for the Egyptian star.

Although an agreement remains incomplete, Trabzonspor now appear to be the club most likely to secure Salah’s services. The reported salary would represent a major commitment from the Turkish side and is substantially higher than the terms previously discussed with Besiktas.

Salah’s estimated market value is €22m, according to Transfermarkt. During his time at Liverpool, he was reported to have earned an annual salary of €20,817,548, equivalent to 13,531,406,200 FCFA.

The latest proposal therefore places the focus firmly on Trabzonspor as the transfer saga enters a new phase. While no official announcement has been made by the club or the player, negotiations are said to have progressed far enough for a full agreement to be considered within reach.

Salah’s potential move would mark the continuation of his career in Turkey after his spell with Liverpool, where he earned the salary cited in the report. For now, Trabzonspor’s two-year proposal and €17m annual package have moved them ahead of Besiktas in the race for the 22m-euro-valued forward.
