Trabzonspor put €17m salary on table in bid to sign Mohamed Salah

Trabzonspor have held talks with Mohamed Salah’s representative and presented a formal two-year contract offer worth €17m per season as they attempt to sign the Egypt captain following his departure from Liverpool.

Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu reported the development on X, saying club officials met with Salah’s representative to discuss the proposed agreement and the terms of the offer.

The package includes an annual salary of €17m and a contract lasting two years. The scale of the proposal underlines Trabzonspor’s ambition to bring one of the biggest names in world football to the Turkish club.

Salah is currently a free agent after ending his spell with Liverpool at the conclusion of last season. The Egypt forward spent several highly successful years at Anfield, becoming one of the most influential players in the club’s modern history.

During his time with Liverpool, Salah played a central role in a series of domestic and European triumphs. His performances also established him as one of the leading players of the Premier League era.

Trabzonspor are not the only club to have shown an interest in signing Salah.

Another Turkish side, Besiktas, had been among the prominent clubs linked with the 33-year-old. However, those talks did not result in a final agreement because of financial differences between the player and the club.

Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are also continuing to monitor Salah’s situation. Al-Ittihad are regarded as one of the leading interested parties, having previously expressed strong interest in recruiting the forward.

Salah has built an outstanding honours list since joining Liverpool. He has won the Premier League twice and helped the club claim the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

He has also collected a series of individual awards, further reinforcing his status among the world’s leading footballers.

The proposed move to Trabzonspor would represent a new chapter in Salah’s career after his long association with Liverpool. The Turkish club’s offer is designed to convince him to continue playing at the highest level in Europe, while rival interest from Besiktas and Saudi Pro League clubs adds further uncertainty to his next destination.
