Al Masry pay EGP 60m for Shokry and El Ash as potential El Saay deal priced at EGP 35m

Al Masry have committed EGP 60m to sign Mohamed Shokry and Mostafa El Ash from Al Ahly, with a further EGP 35m needed if they decide to make Omar El Saay’s move permanent, FilGoal.com has learned.

The Port Said club have finalised the transfer of midfielder Mostafa El Ash on a deal running until 2030, after Al Ahly had originally bought him from ZED for EGP 58m in January 2025.

Al Ahly have also agreed to sell left-back Mohamed Shokry to Al Masry, with the move arranged between the clubs, according to FilGoal.com.

In addition, FilGoal.com understands that Al Masry would have to pay EGP 35m to sign forward Omar El Saay on a full transfer if new Al Ahly head coach Hussein Amouta approves his departure.

El Saay spent last season on loan at Al Masry from Al Ahly, a temporary deal that cost the Port Said side EGP 10m.

El Saay impact and previous moves

During his loan spell last season, Omar El Saay played 39 matches for Al Masry in all competitions and scored nine goals.

Before moving to Port Said, El Saay had only one full season in an Al Ahly shirt, having joined the Cairo giants from Ismaily in a transfer worth EGP 50m.

Game time for El Ash and Shokry

Mostafa El Ash featured prominently for Al Masry in the second half of last season, making 20 appearances after arriving at the club.

By contrast, Mohamed Shokry found opportunities limited at Al Ahly, playing 14 matches in the previous campaign and accumulating a total of just 717 minutes on the pitch.

Al Masry future under Emad El Nahhas

Emad El Nahhas will continue as Al Masry head coach next season after renewing his contract with the club.

El Nahhas guided the Port Said side back to trophy success by leading them to win the Capital of Egypt Cup, ending a wait for silverware and strengthening his position ahead of the latest recruitment drive involving Shokry, El Ash and the potential capture of El Saay.
