Vinicius Junior has announced his engagement to Brazilian influencer and entrepreneur Virginia Fonseca, around a year after the Real Madrid forward’s relationship with her first became public.
The couple shared the news on social media after Fonseca posted a photograph of them wearing matching rings. She explained that the rings formally confirmed their engagement following a year of dating and signalled their intention to build a long-term future together.
The announcement comes as Vinicius faces criticism over his form for Real Madrid. The Brazil international has scored only once in seven appearances in all competitions this season.
Vinicius and Real Madrid are preparing for one of the campaign’s most important fixtures, with a derby against Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano on Sunday, in the seventh round of the Spanish league.
Fonseca a regular presence in Madrid
Fonseca has become a familiar figure in Vinicius Junior’s life in the Spanish capital and regularly attends matches to support the Real Madrid player.
She was in the stands at Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday as Real Madrid recorded a 4-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano.
Their relationship has attracted significant attention in both Brazil and Spain, particularly as Fonseca’s family life has become part of Vinicius’ life in Madrid. She is often accompanied in Spain by a large circle of people close to her, as well as her three children, Maria Alice, Maria Flor and Jose Leonardo.
Fonseca was born Virginia Pimenta da Fonseca in the US state of Connecticut and moved to Brazil when she was three.
She began building a following on social media at the age of 16 and later became one of Brazil’s leading content creators, according to Marca. Fonseca has more than 55 million followers on Instagram, in addition to substantial audiences on TikTok and YouTube.
Her work extends beyond content creation. She is also a prominent businesswoman and runs WePink, a cosmetics company that marked its fifth anniversary in September 2026.
Relationship began in 2025
Fonseca has three children from her previous relationship with Brazilian singer Ze Felipe. Their five-year relationship ended in May 2025, before her relationship with Vinicius began to emerge publicly in October of that year.
Since then, the pair have frequently appeared together at public events in Brazil and Spain. One of their most recent appearances came at the Madrid Grand Prix, where they were seen together at the Madring circuit during the Formula 1 event.
Fonseca has also recently experienced a personal tragedy. Her bodyguard, Rogerio Camilo Ramos, died in a motorcycle accident, while his wife, who was travelling with him, also lost her life in the same crash.
Writing on social media, Fonseca said she was “heartbroken” and paid tribute to Ramos, thanking him for the care, protection and love he had given her family throughout his time working for them.
