Al Hilal weigh move for Manchester City winger Jack Grealish amid summer rebuild

Al Hilal have added Jack Grealish to their list of attacking targets this summer, with the Manchester City winger emerging as the Saudi Pro League club’s latest high-profile option.

According to UK radio station TalkSPORT, Al Hilal are interested in signing the England international in the current transfer window, having already explored moves for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Paris St-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele.

Grealish has returned to Manchester City after spending last season on loan at Everton, where he scored six goals and provided two assists in 20 Premier League appearances. His future at Etihad Stadium remains uncertain, with the European champions preferring a permanent sale over another temporary move.

Everton, who were satisfied with his impact last season, are understood to be keen on bringing Grealish back to Goodison Park on loan. However, TalkSPORT reports that City are not willing to sanction a second loan spell, a stance that could strengthen Al Hilal’s position if they decide to push ahead with a bid.

Player preference complicates Al Hilal pursuit

Al Hilal’s chances of landing Grealish are complicated by the player’s own ambitions. The 30-year-old is reported to favour staying in the Premier League next season rather than moving abroad, as he looks to continue his career in English football.

The Riyadh club, though, are prepared to test his resolve with what is described as a lucrative, tax-free salary package in an effort to persuade him to join the Saudi Pro League. No fee or contract details have been disclosed, and there is no indication yet that formal talks have begun between the clubs.

Al Hilal have been among the most active and ambitious Saudi clubs in recent transfer windows, targeting established names from Europe’s top leagues as they look to strengthen their squad for domestic and continental campaigns.

Al Hilal already bolster wide options

The interest in Grealish comes despite Al Hilal having already moved to reinforce their options out wide. The club have signed Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United for a fee reported by local media to be in the region of €80m.

Even after securing Summerville, Al Hilal are still seeking further additions in attacking areas and have explored potential deals for Dembele and Luis Diaz as part of a broader strategy to assemble a deep pool of wingers.

Grealish, who has experience at the highest level with Manchester City and in the Premier League with Aston Villa and Everton, fits the profile of player Al Hilal are prioritising: an established international capable of making an immediate impact.

For now, the situation hinges on whether Manchester City receive an acceptable permanent offer and whether Grealish is willing to consider a move away from England, with Al Hilal waiting to see if their financial proposal can change the course of his decision.
