Mouine Chaabani recalls key names for Tunisia’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Tunisia manager Mouine Chaabani has announced his squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, with several established players returning and two newcomers included.

Alaa Ghram, Ali Maaloul, Aissa Laidouni, Amin Cherni, Ferjani Sassi, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, Hamza Rafia, Sayfallah Ltaief and Samy Chouchane are all back in the national team group.

Chaabani has also added fresh options, selecting Sadok Kedida and Mohamed Nasraoui as he looks to bring a new dynamic to the squad.

However, the Tunisia manager has left out several familiar names. The group does not include Rekik, Saad, Aouani or Belhaj, who have regularly featured among the national team’s options.

The squad was officially revealed by Chaabani on Friday ahead of Tunisia’s involvement in the continental qualifying process. The selection combines a number of returning internationals with younger or less established players, while several regulars will not be involved in the upcoming fixtures.
