Bayern Munich to re-sign Bara Sapoko Ndiaye on long-term deal after Gambinos Stars agreement

Bayern Munich have reached a full agreement to bring back teenage midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye from Gambinos Stars on a long-term contract running until 2031.

Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the German champions have finalised terms with the Gambian club, ending uncertainty over the 18-year-old’s future and securing what Bayern view as a key piece of their next generation.

The fee is understood to be between €3m and €4m, with Ndiaye currently valued at around €4m. He is expected to join Bayern’s first-team squad at their training camp in Tegernsee in the coming days, rather than following the traditional route through the club’s reserves.

Direct to Kompany’s first team

According to Plettenberg, head coach Vincent Kompany has specifically requested that Ndiaye be integrated straight into the professional set-up, bypassing Bayern’s second team. The Belgian wants the Senegal international involved with the senior squad from the outset as pre-season preparations continue.

This approach marks a departure from Bayern’s usual integration plan for young signings, who are often eased in via the reserve side before being promoted to the first team. In Ndiaye’s case, Kompany is said to see him as ready to compete immediately at a higher level.

Ndiaye, born in Mekhe, had made the Bayern project his clear priority and is described as having consistently favoured a return to Munich over other options.

World Cup interest turned down

The midfielder, who represents Senegal at international level, attracted attention from several clubs after his performances at the World Cup. However, he is understood to have rejected approaches following the tournament in order to push through his move to Bayern.

His decision clears the way for what is effectively a homecoming, with the deal tying him to the Allianz Arena until 2031 once the final paperwork and medical checks are completed.

Part of Bayern’s ‘Red & Gold’ strategy

Ndiaye’s arrival is also regarded within the club as a significant endorsement of Bayern’s “Red & Gold” development programme. The initiative focuses on identifying and nurturing young talent for the long term, and the agreement with Gambinos Stars is seen as a tangible result of that strategy.

By committing a substantial fee for a teenager and offering a contract that runs for much of the coming decade, Bayern are underlining their belief in Ndiaye’s potential and in the broader pathway laid out by the “Red & Gold” project.

With the transfer now effectively wrapped up, only the formalities remain before Ndiaye links up with Kompany and the rest of the Bayern squad at Tegernsee to begin the next phase of his career in the Bundesliga.
