Yann Bisseck set to stay at Inter as Bayern Munich transfer fades

Yann Bisseck’s expected move to Bayern Munich has hit a major roadblock, with the Inter defender now close to extending his contract in Milan instead.

That development would effectively end Bayern’s hopes of landing the German centre-back this summer.

According to Sportmediaset, the 25-year-old is set to add two more years to his current deal, which already runs until 2029, pushing his stay at San Siro through to 2031.

Bayern had tracked him for months and were impressed by his pace, athleticism and calmness on the ball, while Inter were said to be open to offers in the region of 40 million euros earlier in the window.

Bisseck has grown quickly since joining Inter in 2023, moving from a squad option to an increasingly important part of the defence. He is now understood to be eager for more responsibility and a bigger role in the team, which helps explain why a new long-term agreement is close. Premier League clubs were also watching his situation, but the renewal now looks like the clearest outcome.

If the extension is officially signed, Bayern will need to switch attention to other centre-back targets.
