Abdelhamid Sabiri denies Raja links

Moroccan international Abdelhamid Sabiri has swiftly debunked reports linking him with a summer move to Raja Athletic Club.

Earlier reports suggested the Moroccan giants had opened talks with the experienced midfielder as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

However, Sabiri has taken to social media downplayed such reports, while urging the public to treat it with the needed contempt it deserves.

“False news” the enterprising midfielder wrote on social media which included an emoji, making it clear that there was no truth behind reports linking him with a switch to the “Green Eagles.”

Besides, reports claims negotiations had taken place between the two parties, with Raja reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing the talented midfielder back to Morocco. However, Sabiri’s public reaction has now put an end to those claims, ruling out a move to the Casablanca-based club at this stage.

Sabiri, who has represented Morocco at international level, has built a reputation as a technically gifted midfielder with experience in some of Europe’s top leagues. His career has included spells in Germany, Italy and other competitive environments, making him one of the more recognised Moroccan players abroad.

Meanwhile, Raja Casablanca continue their preparations for the upcoming campaign as the club works to strengthen its squad ahead of major domestic and continental challenges.

The “Green Eagles” are currently focused on improving their team under the guidance of their new sporting management, with officials working alongside the club’s board to complete several important transfer decisions before the start of the season.

The club is also under pressure due to the approaching deadline set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for clubs participating in continental competitions to submit their preliminary player lists.

With limited time available, Raja officials are accelerating their activity in the transfer market, aiming to bring in reinforcements while also resolving pending squad matters to ensure the technical staff have the strongest possible group available.

Despite the failed pursuit of Sabiri — if reports of interest are accurate — Raja remain active in their search for quality additions as they prepare for another demanding season filled with expectations from their supporters.

For Sabiri, however, his latest message has brought clarity to his immediate future, with the midfielder distancing himself from the speculation linking him with a return to the Moroccan league.
