Eduardo Camavinga determined to fight for Real Madrid future

Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as Michael Carrick continues reshaping his engine room ahead of the new season.

The Red Devils have already strengthened their midfield with the arrivals of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, but the club is still searching for another powerful presence capable of adding energy, physicality and defensive stability.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Camavinga has emerged as one of the names being discussed internally as United evaluate the final piece of their midfield overhaul.

The 23-year-old remains one of Europe’s most highly rated midfielders despite an injury-hit campaign that limited him to just 16 LaLiga starts in 29 league appearances for Real Madrid. His reduced role has fuelled speculation over his future, although a move away from the Spanish giants remains far from straightforward.

Real Madrid stance complicates pursuit

Romano revealed that United are assessing several candidates before making a final decision on their preferred target.

“Man Utd are considering a few options before deciding who is the player they want.”

He added that Camavinga is among the players discussed during the club’s internal recruitment meetings.

“Another option mentioned internally in the meetings has been Eduardo Camavinga.”

Romano explained that United are specifically searching for a defensive midfielder capable of bringing intensity, athleticism and physical strength to Carrick’s squad.

However, United’s hopes of landing the French international face a significant obstacle.

“Camavinga doesn’t want to leave Real Madrid this summer. Camavinga wants to stay, Camavinga wants to be an important part of Real Madrid project next season.”

That stance leaves the Premier League club with little room to manoeuvre unless the midfielder has a change of heart before the transfer window closes.

Romano stressed that any potential deal would depend entirely on Camavinga’s willingness to reconsider his future.

“The Camavinga story could only be possible if the player decides to go. So this is why the deal for Camavinga is complicated.”

With United determined to add another midfield enforcer, Camavinga remains an ambitious option, but convincing the Real Madrid star to leave the Santiago Bernabéu could prove to be the biggest challenge of Carrick’s summer rebuild.
