Barcelona refuse to meet Dortmund’s price for Karim Adeyemi
Barcelona are refusing to pay Borussia Dortmund’s full €40 million asking price for Karim Adeyemi, even after their opening €20 million bid was turned down.
The Catalan club still believe a cheaper deal is possible and are pushing ahead with talks.
Adeyemi has already agreed personal terms and made it clear to Dortmund that Barcelona is the only club he wants this summer. That gives Barca leverage, especially with the forward’s contract situation set to weaken Dortmund’s position over time. He is expected to be free to sign a pre-contract from January if no renewal is agreed.
Dortmund, though, are not rushing. They know Adeyemi remains one of their most explosive attackers and want to protect his market value. Barcelona are hoping that pressure will force the Germans to compromise rather than risk losing him for nothing later.
The move would be a major step for Adeyemi, who joined Dortmund in 2022 from Salzburg and has since developed into a dangerous, high-impact attacker. His pace, direct running and ability to decide big games make him an attractive option for Barcelona as they look to add more depth and speed in attack.
