Dortmund reject Barcelona opening bid for Karim Adeyemi

Barcelona’s first offer for Karim Adeyemi has been knocked back by Borussia Dortmund, who are holding firm on their valuation of the winger.

The Catalan club reportedly put €20 million on the table, but Dortmund want something closer to €30 million to €40 million before they seriously consider a sale.

Adeyemi’s situation is helping drive the standoff. He has just one year left on his contract, which is why Barcelona are trying to keep the fee controlled while still moving quickly. Dortmund, though, believe his age, talent and upside justify a stronger price.

The 24-year-old has already built a strong reputation in Germany. He joined Dortmund in June 2022 from Salzburg for a reported €30 million plus add-ons, then signed a deal running until June 2027. Since then, he has become one of their most dangerous attackers.

One of his standout moments came in October 2024, when he scored a hat-trick in a 7-1 Champions League win over Celtic. He has also shown elite pace, registering a top speed of 36.3 km/h in the 2023/24 group stage. Barcelona still want him, but Dortmund’s opening rejection suggests this negotiation could take time.
