David Costa: Eyupspor sign Torreense attacking midfielder in permanent deal
Eyupspor have completed the signing of attacking midfielder David Costa from Portuguese side SC Uniao Torreense in a permanent transfer. The move, finalised on 7 July 2026, takes the 22-year-old to the Turkish Super Lig, with the fee undisclosed.
Costa, who holds Cape Verdean and Portuguese nationality, joins Eyupspor after spending last season between Torreense and FC Pacos de Ferreira. He moved to Pacos de Ferreira on loan in January 2026 from Torreense before returning to the Liga Portugal 2 club at the end of the campaign in June, and has now made a first full move abroad.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, Costa is right-footed and stands at 1.70m. His arrival adds creativity in the final third for Eyupspor as they strengthen their squad for the Super Lig. According to recent valuations, his market value stands at 500,000, having previously peaked at 800,000 during his time with Torreense.
Born in Lisbon on 12 January 2004, Costa progressed through the youth ranks in Portugal, including spells at Real SC and Benficas under-17 side, before establishing himself at Torreense. He stepped up from Torreenses under-23s to the first team in 2024 and saw his value rise significantly as he broke into senior professional football.
Costas switch from Liga Portugal 2 to the Turkish top flight marks his first move outside Portuguese football and continues Eyupspors recruitment from European leagues.
