Gideon Yiriyon: Degerfors complete permanent deal for Ghanaian midfielder from Inter Allies

Degerfors have completed the permanent signing of Ghanaian attacking midfielder Gideon Yiriyon from Inter Allies, following his loan spell with the Swedish club. The 19-year-old moves from the Ghanaian side to the Allsvenskan outfit after the transfer was finalised on 7 July 2026, with the fee not disclosed.

Yiriyon, who stands at 1.72m and operates primarily as an attacking midfielder, already knows Degerfors well after joining the club on loan from Inter Allies in January 2026. That switch came shortly after a loan stint with Umea FC in Sweden, where he spent part of the 202526 season.

His performances in Sweden over the past year have coincided with a steady rise in his market value. Assessed at 150,000 while at Umea in September 2025, his valuation increased to 200,000 by November 2025 and reached 250,000 in March 2026 with Degerfors, a figure that has been maintained into June 2026.

The move marks Yiriyons second permanent transfer in less than a year, having returned to Inter Allies in November 2025 after his loan at Umea ended, before heading back to Sweden on loan with Degerfors in January. Degerfors have now secured the Ghanaians services on a full-time basis for the 202627 campaign.

Yiriyons arrival adds further attacking midfield depth to a Degerfors side competing in the Allsvenskan, with the club opting to build on his progress during his loan spell and his increased market valuation of 250,000.
