Wydad Casablanca, the renowned football club, has successfully finalized the acquisition of Mauritanian player Sidi Bouna Ammar, the midfielder for the Mauritanian national team, as revealed by an authoritative source to “Hesport.”
The same source clarified that Sidi Bouna Ammar electronically signed with Wydad Casablanca in the past few hours for a contract spanning two and a half seasons.
Ammar joins the club from local team Noudhibou, and the administrative preparations for his journey to Morocco are underway by the “Red Team” management.
The source further indicated that Bouna Ammar has requested a few days from Wydad Casablanca’s management before traveling to Morocco to allow him to get married in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, later this week.
According to information from “Hesport,” Bouna Ammar, the midfielder for the Mauritanian national team, will not be eligible to participate with Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League this season.
He had already featured for his previous team, Noudhibou, in the CAF Confederation Cup earlier this season.
Sidi Bouna Ammar played a pivotal role in the Mauritanian national team’s journey to the Round of 16 in the Africa Cup of Nations, exiting the continental competition after a narrow 0-1 defeat to Cape Verde.
In another announcement today, Wydad Casablanca revealed the return of Ismail El Haddad to the team on a free transfer.
However, details regarding the contract or its duration were not disclosed.
